AceShowbiz - A video featuring Bono and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' awkward moment has found its way back online. Amid the disgraced rapper's legal drama, Diddy's apparent attempt to kiss the singer at the 2014 Golden Globes became the talk of the town.
In the said video, Diddy was seen onstage to present the Best Original Song Award, which went to Bono and his U2 bandmates. They won their song "Ordinary Love", which was penned for 2013's "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom".
As Bono and his bandmates took the stage to accept the award, guitarist The Edge celebrated the moment by hugging Diddy. The Bad Boy Records founder later turned to hug Bono before leaning in to seemingly kiss him on the cheek. The rock star, however, quickly dodged the kiss and pulled himself away from the hip-hop star.
A source told Radar Online that Bono "still shudders" whenever he recalled the moment. "Loads of fans are saying the obvious discomfort with Bono's body language all those years ago is a sign he knew there was something not right with Diddy - to say the least," the insider continued.
"There's no way he knew about the depths of his depravity or he would have spoken up, but there was no way Bono was letting him anywhere near him, even 10 years ago," the source continued. "He still shudders at the thought of it."
Internet users also had a lot to say about the video. "Diddy looking around to see if anyone saw him getting rejected by Bono," one pointed out. "I'm no U2 fan but that cringey awkward hug between Bono and Diddy at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards was hilarious," someone else added.
"Bono didn't like Diddy, wonder why, that was painfully awkward to watch but did he know something at this time, oh, and did Diddy just try [to] kiss Bono on the lips?" another wondered. One other, meanwhile, believed that the singer "knew when he shrugged P. Diddy off what the Diddler was like."
