AceShowbiz - Bruce Springsteen, the legendary "Born in the U.S.A." singer, has made a strong endorsement for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming presidential election. In a riveting Instagram video, Springsteen, often referred to as "The Boss," passionately expressed his support and highlighted his concerns about the current political climate.
Springsteen declared the 2024 election as "one of the most consequential" in American history and criticized the current state of the nation by saying, "Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, emotionally, and spiritually divided as it does at this moment. It doesn't have to be this way."
The rock icon praised Harris and Walz for their inclusivity and vision for America. "They are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity. They want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just the few like me on top. That's the vision of America I've been consistently writing about for 55 years," Springsteen said.
Not holding back on his critique of former President Donald Trump, Springsteen labeled him "the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime."
He continued to elaborate on Trump's perceived shortcomings, "His disdain for the sanctity of our Constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again. He doesn't understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American."
Springsteen's enthusiasm for Harris and Walz shines brightly, as does his commitment to the democratic process. "Now, everybody sees things different, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen. But like you, I've only got one vote, and it's one of the most precious possessions that I have," he affirmed.
Springsteen's endorsement adds him to a growing list of influential musicians and artists supporting Harris and Walz, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Stevie Nicks, and John Legend.
His message is one of hope and a call for unity. "The common values, the shared stories that make us a great and united nation, are waiting to be rediscovered and retold once again. That will take time, hard work, intelligence, faith, and women and men with the national good guiding their hearts," Springsteen concluded.
As the election approaches, Springsteen's powerful words remind young voters of their influence and the importance of casting their ballots for a future that embraces inclusivity, justice, and unity.
