AceShowbiz - Ana Navarro, political commentator and cohost of "The View", has never been one to shy away from standing her ground, both professionally and personally. Known for her candid opinions and unapologetic demeanor, Navarro recently made headlines for her fierce stance on home defense during a segment of the popular talk show.
The discussion on "The View" turned to self-defense after Vice President Kamala Harris mentioned in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that anyone breaking into her home would be "getting shot." The topic of gun ownership and self-defense naturally sparked varied responses among Navarro and her cohosts.
Joy Behar, another co-host, entertained the idea of owning a gun for self-defense, explaining, "I would have a gun if I needed one, I just don't approve of those machine guns. I think those are just to kill a bunch of people." This brought the conversation to Navarro, who took the moment to issue a stern warning to potential intruders.
"I have a gun, too," Navarro declared emphatically to the camera. "So, nobody better be coming to my house!" This comment wasn't just flippant. Navarro's resolve can be traced back to an ongoing conflict with a raccoon that invaded her Miami home.
Back in October 2023, Navarro described on the show's companion podcast, "Behind the Table", how she was practically at war with a raccoon that caused significant damage to her property. "I had to do an entire reconstruction of an area of my house," she recounted. "A raccoon came through a palm frond onto my roof, ate a hole through my roof, it rained, water got in. It has been a disaster. I had to take my guest house down to the studs because of this raccoon."
The ordeal left Navarro openly disdainful of raccoons. "I hate raccoons, I think they should all die, I don't care if they're cute, I don't care if PETA comes after me. This raccoon needs to die," she declared, underscoring the severity of the situation.
