AceShowbiz - Katie Holmes received a special visit from her former "Dawson's Creek" co-star Nina Repeta at the opening preview of her new Broadway show "Our Town". On Tuesday, September 17, the actresses reunited at the Barrymore Theatre in New York City, where Holmes made her Broadway debut.
Holmes shared a heartwarming black-and-white photo of herself and Repeta on her Instagram Stories. "Thank you Nina for coming to see @ourtownbroadway. A mini dawson's creek reunion," Holmes captioned the image, adding a red heart emoji. Repeta also posted a series of photos from the special night on her Instagram page.
Holmes and Repeta played sisters Joey Potter and Bessie Potter, respectively, on the beloved teen drama "Dawson's Creek". The show aired for six seasons from 1998 to 2003 and launched the careers of Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams and others.
The reunion comes as the cast mourns the recent loss of Obi Ndefo, who played Bodie Wells, the love interest of Repeta's character and guardian to Holmes' character. Ndefo passed away at the age of 51 in August. Holmes paid tribute to him on Instagram Stories, describing him as "a kind man."
Holmes returns to Broadway for the first time in over a decade with "Our Town". She stars as Mrs. Webb in the play, which features a cast of 28 actors led by Emmy winner Jim Parsons as the stage manager narrator. The show is a revival of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic and explores themes of life, love and the meaning of existence.
