AceShowbiz - A notorious supergroup has reassembled near Sunnydale, but this time, Buffy Summers isn't alarmed. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who portrayed Buffy on the beloved television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", recently shared her affection for Adam Busch, Danny Strong and Tom Lenk, the actors who played the menacing Trio.
In a recent Instagram snapshot, the Trio reunited and prompted fans to provide a caption. Gellar commented, "Three people I adore." Strong responded with an equally affectionate response.
The Trio, comprising Warren Mears (Busch), Jonathan Levinson (Strong) and Andrew Wells (Lenk), served as the primary antagonists in the sixth season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". They were known for their scientific experimentation, demon summoning and spellcraft.
Following the show's move from the WB to UPN, the Trio's arrival marked a pivotal moment in the series' trajectory. The cast and crew faced the challenge of maintaining Buffy's loyal fan base, and the Trio's performances played a significant role in this endeavor.
Busch, Strong and Lenk brought depth to their villainous characters. Despite their lack of extraordinary powers, their unwavering resolve to harm the citizens of Sunnydale and counter Buffy's efforts kept the Scooby Gang on their toes.
Despite the Trio's villainous actions, including Warren's murder of Tara Maclay, they remain fan favorites. Their determination and cunning showcased a refreshing contrast to previous villains.
Gellar has consistently expressed her pride in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" since its conclusion in 2003. The cast reunited for a special feature in Entertainment Weekly in 2017 to mark the series' 20th anniversary.
Post-"Buffy", Gellar has reunited with her former castmates at various events, including Ed Sheeran concerts and the premiere of her "Teen Wolf" spin-off "Wolf Pack". Additionally, several other cast members participated in an Audible original series centered on James Marsters' "Spike".
Lenk will soon make an appearance on the Korean spy drama "Tempest", while Strong has won two Emmys for his work on "Game Change" and received three additional nominations for "Dopesick". Busch has recently been featured in episodes of "The Rookie" and "Proven Innocent".
