AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez's big decision to open up about her inability to carry a baby was highly influenced by Justin Bieber. A new report claimed that being compared to her ex-boyfriend, who recently welcomed his first child with wife Hailey Baldwin, encouraged Selena to get candid about the matter.
A source tells Daily Mail that Selena has grown tired of the constant narrative that she's upset after Justin announced that he was expecting his first child with Hailey. "Selena was so tired of people still trying to draw parallels between her life and her ex Justin’s life with Hailey which went way overboard after they announced that they were expecting a baby," the insider says of the "Only Murders in the Building" star.
The Rare Beauty founder, who is currently dating Benny Blanco, is also allegedly uncomfortable with people expecting her to get pregnant. The informant adds, "Suddenly there was all this pressure on Selena to have a baby and to get married. She has found the love of her life in Benny. But every time Selena had an extra cheeseburger people were speculating that she is pregnant."
Another source, on the other hand, reveals that Benny has been Selena's rock. "Benny has been everything to Selena," claims the source. "He is more than a rock. He doesn't judge and he tries to find the answer to any concerns or problems she has."
Of the couple, who has been sparking engagement rumors, the insider continues, "Selena and Benny will marry and have kids somehow and she knows that he will be the best father because of the way he takes care of her."
When Justin and Hailey broke the baby news in May, some Internet users left nasty comments after they noticed that the "Lose You to Love Me" singer limited her Instagram comments. "Congrats Selena Gomez for being the main character in Justin and Hailey's marriage and pregnancy announcement," one comment read. Another joked that Selena "is 65 weeks pregnant."
After facing online trolls, Selena shared in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that she "unfortunately can't carry [her] own children." She elaborated in the outlet's October issue, which was published on Monday, September 9, "I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while."
Despite the struggles, the former Disney darling found hope and solace in other paths to motherhood. "I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me," she divulged, adding, "It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I'm one of those people."
