AceShowbiz - Kendrick Lamar fans believe that Drake took a jab at him on his newly released songs. However, they believe that K-Dot has responded to the jab in advance.
On Friday, August 23, Drizzy dropped three new tracks on his burner Instagram account, including "Circadian Rhythm", "Supersoak (SOD)" and "No Face" ft. Playboi Carti. On the first track, the Canadian emcee raps about dodging "funeral dates."
Some assumed that it could be a reference to K-Dot's Juneteenth Pop Out show in L.A., which fans jokingly described as a funeral for Drizzy online. The title of the song is also used in K-Dot's second Drake diss, "6:16 In L.A."
While Kendrick has yet to fire back one X, formerly Twitter, user compared Drake's "No Face" lyrics to Kendrick's "Meet The Grahams" lines. On "No Face", Drizzy said that his therapist put in their 30-day notice. On "Meet The Grahams", meanwhile, K-Dot suggested that therapy wasn't enough for his rival because what he should do was strip his ego with ayahuasca instead.
Aside from addressing past feuds on "No Face", Drake hinted at something bigger in store. "I'm over the moon, yeah, we'll see you boys soon," he spits.
The lyrics also reference the advice Drake has received from close collaborators, hinting at patience and a plan in the works. "40 keep sayin' it's time to be patient," he raps, "It's so many people we turnin' the tables on."
Drake's recent releases come amidst a perceived decline in his hit-making ability. However, the rapper dismisses such claims, reminding listeners of his role in the success of other artists like Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd. "N***as got lit off the features I skated on," he spits, "I gotta know, I gotta know. How you get lit off the n***a you hatin' on?"
