Despite their excellent chemistry onscreen, some movie co-stars struggled to get along with each other due to various reasons, including bad hygiene among others.

AceShowbiz - Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni made headlines recently after their movie "It Ends With Us" was released on August 9. Rather than because of the flick itself, the co-stars were trending on Internet due to their alleged feud off-screen over Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds' intervenes to the movie.

Drama between co-stars, however, isn't entirely new in Hollywood. Despite their excellent chemistry onscreen, some movie co-stars struggled to get along with each other due to various reasons. Some of them would publicly address their disdain toward each other, while some cases saw the directors spilling the tea.

Find out 10 movie co-stars who are infamously feuding with each other.

1. Jennifer Aniston and Jay Mohr ('Picture Perfect')

Jennifer Aniston and Jay Mohr might offer a picture perfect couple on screen, but it wasn't apparently the case off-screen. In a 2011 episode of his podcast "Mohr Stories", Mohr opened up working with the "Friends" alum in "Picture Perfect".

According to the actor, Aniston was "mean" to him because she initially wanted her then-boyfriend, actor Tate Donovan, to get his role in the movie. "As she's walking toward us to walk past us, she's pointing to [co-star] Illeana Douglas and she goes, 'Six guys they screen tested. Six!' ... And then points at me and goes, 'The one [expletive] guy I hate, that's the guy they hire. Him!' " he recalled.

2. Bette Davis and Joan Crawford ('What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?')

Among the most iconic feuds in pop culture history is the decades-long public battle between actresses Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Their feud started when Davis made her first major film debut in 1933's "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?", only to get overshadowed by Crawford's divorce news from her husband.

In a 1987 interview, Davis said, "I have never forgiven her for that, and never will. I fell in love with Franchot, professionally and privately. Everything about him reflected his elegance, from his name to his manners. She took him from me." She continued, "She did it coldly, deliberately, and with complete ruthlessness." The two continued feuding for decades.

3. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams ('The Notebook')

While "The Notebook" remains as one of the most iconic romance movies in Hollywood history, co-stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams allegedly couldn't stand each other when the camera stopped rolling. The flick's director Nick Cassavetes spilled in an interview, " Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not."

The director said that the "La La Land" actor asked him to "bring in another actress to read off-camera with" him. "They started screaming and yelling at each other. I walked out … And it got better after that, you know?" he continued recalling the tension on set. "They had it out … I think Ryan respected her for standing up for her character and Rachel was happy to get that out in the open," Cassavetes continued. "The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing."

4. Lucy Liu and Bill Murray ('Charlie's Angels')

Lucy Liu and Bill Murray are another notable feud among movie co-stars. The actress claimed that her "Charlie's Angels" co-star lashed out at her due to changes made in his absence while they were rehearsing a scene together. In a 2021 podcast interview, Liu revealed Murray made "inexcusable and unacceptable" comments.

"I stood up for myself, and I don't regret it," she continued. "Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there's no need to condescend or to put other people down."

5. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron ('Mad Max: Fury Road')

Detailing Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron's feud while filming "Mad Max: Fury Road" was none other than the movie's director itself, George Miller. Miller reflected on the on-set drama during a May 2024 interview with The Telegraph.

"There's no excuse for it, and I think there's a tendency in this business to use great performances as an excuse for other disruption that could be avoided," he recalled, adding that the actors were "just two very different performers."

6. Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere ('The Lords of Flatbush')

Meanwhile, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere's tension emerged when they were set to star together in 1974's film "The Lords of Flatbush." But when the film hit theaters, Gere was MIA, prompting Perry King to take over the role Chico because of tension between the two actors.

Admitting the feud, Sly told "Ain't It Cool News" in 2006, "We never hit it off. He would strut around in his oversized motorcycle jacket like he was the baddest knight at the round table."

7. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp ('The Tourist')

Johnny Depp's bad hygiene might be to blame for his tension with his "The Tourist" co-star Angelina Jolie. It was reported that the "Maleficent" actress struggled with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star's bad breath while filming the movie.

Not stopping there, the former wife of Brad Pitt allegedly "was disappointed that he didn't get in better shape for the role and that he didn't want to cut his hair" and was annoyed when Depp showed up late to set. The feeling was allegedly mutual as Depp "retreats to his own trailer until he's called out again. He thinks she's really full of herself."

8. Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh ('Don’t Worry Darling')

Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh sparked feud speculations after they snubbed each other after they wrapped filming "Don't Worry Darling", which Wilde starred in and directed. Pugh skipped Wilde in her tribute post and was noticeably absent during most of the promotion.

While the exact reasons are unknown to this date, reports claimed that Pugh was not happy with Wilde's work ethic on set and felt other members of crew were left to pick up her slack. It was also said that Wilde's romance with Harry Styles, who also starred in the movie, made Pugh uncomfortable.

9. Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker ('Sex and the City')

Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker played besties in "Sex and the City", but they were ironically feuding off-screen. The tension allegedly began when Parker was given a pay raise for her executive producer role when the show was adapted into a TV show. Cattrall asked for a pay raise, but the request was denied.

At one point, the pair appeared to decide to act civil but the beef was reignited when Cattrall's brother passed away in 2018. After Parker wrote a message in support, Cattrall responded, "My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona."

10. Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel ('Fast and Furious')

There are apparently a lot of fury between "Fast and Furious" co-stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel. The two stars started beefing after Diesel was not happy upon learning that The Rock was given a spin-off without him.

The "Moana" star made their feud public with a scathing Instagram message in 2016 that read, "There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. My female costars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male costars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't." In response, Diesel fired back, "I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he'll ever know."
