AceShowbiz - Ryan Seacrest's ex-girlfriend Shana Wall didn't have a good experience during her recent trip with American Airlines. She filed a lawsuit against the company after she was seriously hurt for swallowing shards of plastic that were in a beverage served to her.
In her lawsuit, Shana claimed that her throat, esophagus, vocal chords and digestive system were injured on May 1 when she gulped down the broken plastic on the American Airlines flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport. She was heading to Rome at the time.
The former "Amazing Race" contestant alleged that she was confined to bed and unable to work following the incident, and requires ongoing medical care as a result of the internal damage. "[American Airlines] had a duty to provide beverages and food that was uncontaminated and fit for consumption," the actress/model said, adding, "created the dangerous, defective and unsafe condition on the airplane."
In her lawsuit, which she filed on Monday, August 12, Shana is seeking unspecified damages for the alleged negligence.
Shana may not be the only one who experienced such an issue. Back in June, a passenger on an Air India flight to San Francisco reported finding a blade-like piece of metal inside a sweet potato while eating a meal on the plane. A traveler on a Korean air flight also allegedly found a piece of glass in her mouth while drinking coffee, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Shana dated Ryan from 2003 to 2005. According to her profile in IMDB, she made appearances on "Married… with Children" and "Entourage".
She is currently working as a sommelier and contributor to the men's magazine Best Life. The California native has been making use of her Instagram account to document her world travels where she experienced tasting aged wines in sprawling vineyards. She additionally offers private wine tastings and classes.
