AceShowbiz - K. Michelle has voiced her opinions on Latto's new music. After listening to songs featured in "Sugar Honey Iced Tea", the "Scooch" hitmaker gushed over the raptress, formerly known as Mulatto, for her newly-released album.
Recently, the 42-year-old country/R&B star called Latto's latest record "phenomenal." Making use of X, formerly known as Twitter, she exclaimed, "That Latto album is phenomenal." She went on to explain, "I'm extremely picky when it comes to rap music."
K. Michelle elaborated, "I cant listen to popping p***y all day it has to some musicality, lyrics, animation, and vulnerability. I'm a country/R&B writer so the sequencing is also important. The album was a production. Good job!"
In another tweet, K. Michelle spilled some of the songs included in "Sugar Honey Iced Tea" that she likes. She mentioned "There She Go", "Good 2 You" featuring Ciara as well as "S/O to Me". She was replying to a fan tweet that read, "What's ya favorite track? Mines H&M."
The tweets were later screenshotted and shared by a blog via Instagram, prompting other social media users to express their thoughts on the album. In the comments section, one in particular praised Latto, "SHE DEF DID HER BIG ONE!!! It's such a good body of work!!! GO HEAD LATTO." Similarly, another chimed in, "Album is one of the best projects released this year. Stamped."
A third, in the meantime, shared what they liked about "S/O to Me", writing, "Shout Out To Me is dope. She got so real & personal. Every rapper needs a track like that. It closed out the album flawlessly before the bonus tracks."
Meanwhile, a fourth argued, "Chile she just saying that cuz she still mad at Nicki Minaj ! K Michelle said ,Nicki took her song title or something way back during the meek dating era." A fifth added, "She didn't write it. All she did was recite what she heard on the Reference track. Writers who don't write rapping somebody else's thoughts is [a trash emoji]."
Latto launched "Sugar Honey Iced Tea" through Streamcut and RCA Records on August 9. Aside from Ciara, the album features guest appearances from Young Nudy, Hunxho, Coco Jones, Megan Thee Stallion, Mariah the Scientist, Teezo Touchdown, Cardi B and Flo Milli.
