AceShowbiz - Rick Ross has once again addressed the brawl that erupted during his performance in Canada over the weekend. Downplaying the incident, the Maybach Music Group founder insisted that he wasn't punched during the altercation and got hit with a drink instead.
On Thursday, July 4, Rozay took to his Instagram Story to share his take on the tussle. He appeared shirtless in a video that he filmed himself while walking around what looks like his house.
"I'm thinking about the event that happened over there," he said, claiming he threatened the man who initially approached him into backing down. "Let me tell you something. When the first dude stepped up to Rozay," he continued, adding that he got in the man's face to look him in the eyes before warning him.
"Boy, if I hit you, I'm a see everything you ate for the last two days," the 48-year-old recalled telling the man. "His balls dropped out of his a**. He never said another word, he never did nothing, he was a straight buster."
"Then the n***a behind him said, 'I know MMA!' And then I got hit with a drink," The Boss continued recounting, before stating, "I'm still convinced ain't no n***a punched me."
Ross said someone told him, "He hit you," but he insisted that was not the case. He claimed, "Nah, he had to throw a drink because throwing a drink would have been way more disrespectful than screaming, 'I know MMA!' "
Ross got into a heated argument with the man during his performance at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver. A brawl ensued after he decided to close out his set by playing Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us", which is aimed at Drake.
Following the incident, a rep for Ross told TMZ in a statement, "Vancouver is a beautiful city and he can't wait to go back," downplaying the incident. The rep went on assuring that no one on his team suffered any serious injuries after the brawl.
Meanwhile, Drake seemed to take a jab at Rozay as he celebrated Canada Day in a social media post following the incident. "Happy Canada Day to everybody," he said with a chuckle. "Cheers to the whole country."
