On her U.K. talk show 'Loose Women', the mother of The 1975 frontman gives her response to the exciting news as she gushes over her soon-to-be daughter-in-law.

AceShowbiz - On Tuesday, June 11, Matty Healy, 35, shared on Instagram that he had proposed to his girlfriend, Gabbriette Bechtel, 26. The proposal was made with a custom-designed black diamond ring.
Denise Welch, Healy's mother, expressed her joy about the engagement on her U.K. talk show, "Loose Women". She revealed that she had known about the engagement for several weeks.
"I couldn't be more thrilled," Welch said. "We couldn't be happier, she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I'm thrilled."
Bechtel shared photos of her engagement ring on her Instagram Stories, captioning one of them, "MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT," referring to Charli XCX's recent album release.
The couple has been dating for months, having been first spotted together in September 2022. They made their engagement public after attending a concert by Charli XCX, whose drummer, George Daniel, is also engaged to Healy's bandmate.
According to Bechtel, she had been trying to meet Healy for four years before they finally connected through a mutual friend. The couple has since been spotted at several public events, including New York Fashion Week and The 1975's concerts.
