The Rock shows the injury he suffered while filming a biopic about mixed martial artist Mark Kerr, telling his online followers that he got banged up on the set of his latest movie.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is no stranger to on-the-job injuries, with the latest one occurring the set of "The Smashing Machine"". The 52-year-old actor hurt his right elbow while filming the A24 sports biopic and shared the news in a candid Instagram video.
"As you guys know, I'm filming a movie called The Smashing Machine," Johnson said, before pointing out the obvious correlation. "And anytime your film is called The Smashing Machine, well, you're kind of going to get smashed up." Lifting his right elbow to the camera, he humorously noted, "It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow."
The athlete-turned-actor revealed that there might be some soft tissue damage, common in such high-adrenaline roles, though he has yet to get an MRI. "There's a lot of fluid, we'll see," he mentioned, adding with a grin, "The pain feels pretty good."
Reflecting on his wrestling roots, The Rock recounted advice from his father, Rocky Johnson, "He always used to say, 'A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy.' "
Despite being used to injuries, Johnson sought advice from his fans for any advanced anti-inflammatory treatments, humorously adding that he prefers his own brand of tequila, Teremana, as the best remedy. "Don't sleep on the power of the 'healing Teremana hooch,' " he quipped, taking a swig.
"The Smashing Machine" isn't just any movie for Johnson. Directed by Benny Safdie, the film explores the life of real-life mixed-martial-arts fighter Mark Kerr during the peak of his career in 2000. Co-starring Emily Blunt as Kerr's wife, Dawn Staples, the narrative delves into Kerr's battles with career, love, friendship, and addiction.
Discussing his involvement in the project, Johnson shared with Variety, "I'm at a point in my career where I want to push myself in ways that I've not pushed myself in the past. I want to make films that matter, that explore humanity and struggle [and] pain."
While production timelines remain unclear due to the injury, the film is being positioned as a significant career move for Johnson, showcasing a new level of dramatic depth.
