The Three-time Emmy winner has opted not to return as Laura Peterson to the Apple TV+ series 'The Morning Show', which also stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.

AceShowbiz - Julianna Margulies, best known for her role as Alicia Florrick on "The Good Wife", will not be returning to "The Morning Show" for its fourth season. According to Variety, the actress declined an offer to appear in a single episode and was also asked if she would be interested in returning for a potential fifth season, but declined.
Margulies joined the cast of "The Morning Show" in its second season as Laura Peterson, a journalist and ex-girlfriend of Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon). Their on-again, off-again relationship was a major storyline throughout the show's first three seasons.
Margulies' departure from the show comes after she faced backlash for controversial comments she made in November 2023 regarding the black and LGBTQ+ communities. In an appearance on the "The Back Room" podcast, she claimed that black people have "been brainwashed to hate Jews" and criticized black and LGBTQIA+ supporters of Palestine.
Margulies later apologized for her remarks, saying she was "horrified" that her words had offended these communities. She emphasized that she condemns racism, homophobia, sexism, and any prejudice against anyone's personal beliefs or identity.
The decision for Margulies not to return to "The Morning Show" was reportedly made before her controversial podcast appearance. Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt had previously expressed interest in exploring Margulies' character further in season 4.
Despite Margulies' departure, "The Morning Show" is moving forward with its fourth season. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie are all expected to return. The season is set to premiere after the upcoming presidential election and will likely address timely political issues.
