AceShowbiz - Metro Boomin took time to honor his mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, on the second anniversary of her death. Two years after his mom was shot and killed by her partner, the record producer penned a special tribute to her on social media.
Making use of Instagram on Monday, June 3, the 30-year-old unleashed two pictures of him and his mother. One of the snaps was from his older years, while the other was from his younger years.
Metro began his caption, "Today makes 2 years since Your Physical being has left us but I get on my knees and pray every morning that Your Spirit fills and surrounds my brothers and sisters and I more and more each day," He added, "I Love and miss You more than could ever be explained or comprehended."
Just three weeks prior, Metro gave a shout-out to his mom to celebrate Mother's Day. Sharing a picture of his mom when she was young, he penned, "Happy Mother's Day to the greatest of all time," adding a purple heart, queen and dove emojis.
News about Leslie's death made headlines in June 2022. At the time, TMZ reported that she was discovered just outside of the Atlanta area after she was murdered by her spouse, not Metro's father. Leslie's husband allegedly committed suicide afterward.
One year after Leslie's passing, the "Creepin' " artist thanked her for dedicating "every second and every ounce of your being to the betterment of your 5 children and our family as a whole." He went on to note, "Our time was cut short but I'm still so grateful for all that you have taught me and the values, lessons, and morals You have instilled in each of us."
"Based on everything you taught me, I'm confident and know that this new reality and experience will 100% no doubt continue to shape me into a better man than I would have ever been able to become with You down here in the physical form," he further stated. "You've always said that I'm a hero to not only my younger brothers and sisters but to millions of others out there from afar. So I just look at this as part of my origin story and continue to move forward with the mission as I know You would want me to."
