AceShowbiz - Johnny Wactor's cause of death has been revealed. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that the manner of death was a "homicide" and the direct cause was a "gunshot wound to the chest."
In a press release on Tuesday, May 28, the LAPD said the "General Hospital" star was confronted by three individuals" in the early hours on May 25. The actor had just finished his bartending shift and noticed these individuals had his car "raised up with a floor jack and were in the process of stealing the catalytic converter."
Johnny was shot and killed by one of the culprits. "Los Angeles Police Department, Central Area officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Shooting in the 1200 block of Hope Street. Upon officers' arrival they discovered the victim, identified as 37-year-old John William Wactor, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers began to render aid to the victim and requested the response of emergency medical services," the press release added.

His passing was then confirmed by his agent David Shaul, who said, "Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever."
In the wake of his tragic death, Johnny's godmother, Michaelle Kinard, launched a GoFundMe to help his family cover travel costs. The later actor's mother, Scarlett, and brothers, Lance and Grant, must now travel 2000 miles "to take care of this heartbreaking business" following his death.
As of Wednesday, more than 900 donations have been made toward the $100,000 goal. The money raised is $89,150 so far and any additional funds will be given to the charities the family chooses to honor his memory.
