AceShowbiz - Gisele Bundchen once had a near-fatal accident earlier in her career. The supermodel divulged that she almost died back in the late '90s after nearly falling off a "fake" iceberg during a photo shoot for Lanvin in Iceland.
The 43-year-old made the revelation when playing a game of "True Confessions" with fellow guest Wayne Brady on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". She said, "I did a photo shoot on a fake iceberg in Iceland, and I almost fell off into the ocean."
"I was there going around like this," Gisele recalled as she swiveled her body in a spinning motion, "as a drone was filming me." The catwalk beauty continued, "And I would have been dead in seconds because you know what happens when you fall inside the freezing water of the iceberg?... [In] seconds, you're dead! Dead."
"It was for this fragrance called Oxygene," the mom of two further elaborated. "I was supposed to be in this slip dress while everyone was like in a boat ... with like huge puffer jackets and life vests."
Jimmy Fallon and Wayne weren't buying Gisele's claims. The ex-wife of Tom Brady, however, insisted that it was a true story. She later gushed, "I'm alive, so thank God I'm here."
Gisele's appearance on the "Tonight Show" arrived after she got candid about how modeling took a toll on her well-being. When speaking on "The View" earlier this week, the "Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul: A Healthy Lifestyle Cookbook" author said she faced a "long journey" of overcoming the depression and panic attacks she had in her 20s.
"I wanted to feel better, I didn't know what to do, so I found this amazing naturopath and he said to me, 'Gisele, we have to change your diet,' " she shared. "And I was like, 'Diet, what does that have to do with panic attacks?' And he's like, 'No, it has everything to do with it.' "
"After having a year and a half of what I would say [was] one of the worst times in my life, everything changed," the Brazillian native further elaborated. "I became a different person. I started practicing meditation. I started practicing yoga. I started practicing breath work."
