The 33-year-old NBA star, who welcomed a baby son with the fitness model in December 2021, allegedly failed to pay child support from September 2023 to January this year.

AceShowbiz - Tristan Thompson has been ordered to pay Maralee Nichols back a significant amount in child support. According to a new report, the professional basketball player must fork out nearly $58,000 after skipping several payments.

The 33-year-old, who welcomed a baby son with the fitness model in December 2021, allegedly failed to pay child support from September 2023 to January this year. Thus, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered him to pay his baby mama $57,916, according to court documents obtained by The Sun.

The news arrived months after Tristan's first baby mama, Jordan Craig, accused him of owing her $224,000 in child support for their son Prince. In documents filed in a Los Angeles court last year, Jordan said Tristan has been making "either partial payments or missing child support payments altogether" since November 2022.

Jordan also attached a list of payments made by the athlete over the 10 months. According to the list, he paid $20,000 in November, and sent her $40,000 in December, but skipped payment in January. Tristan, who also has two kids with ex Khloe Kardashian, continued to pay less than the required amount of money in the next months until August.

The child support crisis came amid Tristan's suspension. He was suspended for 25 games without pay after violating the NBA's anti-drug program. On January 23, the NBA announced that the Cleveland Cavalier player tested positive for two types of steroids.

In a statement, the league revealed that Tristan tested positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033 which are also banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the NCAA. In response to the suspension, the Cavaliers issued a statement in which it expressed its stance to "fully support the NBA/NBAPA Anti-Drug Program."

"We are disappointed in the recent news surrounding Tristan Thompson. His time away from game action will have an impact on our team," the statement further read. "We stand behind Tristan and offer our support throughout this suspension period."
