AceShowbiz - BTS (Bangtan Boys) member V and BLACKPINK's Jennie may have called it quits. If a new report is to be believed, the K-Pop power couple had broken up after dating for one year. The split rumors started swirling around on Wednesday, December 6.
Despite the music industry sources' claim, the two stars' respective agencies, BigHit Music and YG Entertainment, have yet to comment on the matter.
The "Dynamite" singer and the "Solo" songstress sent fans into a frenzy when it was said that they spent time together on South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju in May 2022. Further fueling the rumors, some pictures started circulating online, allegedly featuring the couple having a quality time on the beautiful island.
Some snaps saw V and Jenny spending time at an animal ranch. The "Butter" singer could also be seen sweetly kissing his girlfriend on the forehead. They also posed together in front of a golden statue of Buddha.
Later in May of this year, a video posted online also showed what appeared to be V and Jennie seemingly on a date in Paris. Their faces were not shown in the pictures, but fans were convinced it was them because of their outfits.
The split rumors came after V, alongside with his BTS teammates RM, Jimin and Jungkook, announced that they had begun the process to enlist in the military at the same time. "Hello, this is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated the military enlistment process," the company said in a statement issued via Weverse. "The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties."
The label later shared more information about the four members' military enlistment. "Thank you to the fans who always love BTS. We would like to provide follow-up information regarding the military enlistment of RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook," BigHit said in a statement on Weverse. "RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are enlisting as active-duty soldiers in the Army to fulfill their military service obligations. RM and V are scheduled to enlist according to their own procedures, and Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to enlist together, so there will be no separate official event on the day of their entry into the recruit training center."
