AceShowbiz - G Herbo (Lil Herb) once again had a run-in with the law. The "My City" rapper was reportedly arrested for illegal gun possession over the weekend, but he was already released from jail after posting his bail.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, the 27-year-old was busted around 5:45 P.M. near North Wabash Avenue and East Ontario Street on Sunday, July 9. He was arrested and booked for misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon in a public place after cops found a gun.
Now that he's out of jail, Herbo is expected to make a court appearance at a later date. The case could cause another setback in his rap career though since he's still dealing with fraud charges he caught following a December 2020 arrest.
Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Randall Wright III, and five other men were charged for allegedly stealing credit card information to fund luxury vacations and a villa in Jamaica. They were also said to be using the stolen credit card for private jets, lease foreign cars and designer bags.
The "PTSD" singer allegedly contacted his music promoter Antonio Strong to hire a private villa in Jamaica in July 2017 and provided a stolen card to pay for incidentals. Herbo was also accused of using a stolen card to buy two "designer puppies" from a luxury pet store, while the other defendants are alleged to have used stolen cards to charter private planes, yachts and cars, as well as hiring stunning rental accommodations.
Herbo has maintained his innocence. His representative told TMZ, "He (G Herbo) maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court... Herbo has legal representation in Massachusetts via Prince Lobel, whose team has reached out to the US Attorney's office in Massachusetts to make arrangements for Herbo's appearance. G Herbo will appear in Massachusetts whenever he is required either in person or via Zoom."
