AceShowbiz - "Everything Everywhere All at Once" is dominating the movie nominations for the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards, which were announced on Wednesday, December 14. The multiverse dramedy from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as the Daniels, leads the field with an astounding 14 nods, including Best Picture.

The movie is pitted against "Avatar: The Way of Water", "Babylon", "The Banshees of Inisherin", "The Fabelmans", "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery", "RRR", "Tar", "Top Gun: Maverick" as well as "Women Talking" in the coveted category.

It additionally collects four of its massive nods in acting categories, for Michelle Yeoh in Best Actress, Ke Huy Quan in Best Supporting Actor and Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu in Best Supporting Actress. The Daniels, meanwhile, are nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

Trailing behind "Everything Everywhere All at Once" in terms of number is Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans". The coming-of-age drama film nabs 11 nominations, including Best Actress mention for Michelle Williams and two supporting actor nods for Paul Dano and Judd Hirsch.

Other top contenders include Damien Chazelle's "Babylon", which picks up 10 nods, and "The Banshees of Inisherin", which receives nine. Tom Cruise receives Best Actor nomination for his role in "Top Gun: Maverick" after getting snubbed in the recently announced Golden Globe nominations. He's vying for the prize along with Austin Butler ("Elvis"), Colin Farrell ("The Banshees of Inisherin"), Brendan Fraser ("The Whale"), Paul Mescal ("Aftersun") and Bill Nighy ("Living").

The Best Actress category sees Yeoh being pitted against Williams, Cate Blanchett ("Tar"), Viola Davis ("The Woman King"), Danielle Deadwyler ("Till") and Margot Robbie ("Babylon").

"This recognition comes from a diverse group of more than 600 critics and entertainment reporters who share their opinions about film and television with millions of people every day, all year long."

Jeff Bridges will be honored with the Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award. The nominations in TV categories were previously announced, with ABC's "Abbott Elementary" leading the charge with six nods. The winners will be announced at the ceremony, which will take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on January 15. Chelsea Handler is tapped as the host.
