The stylish rapper sports wide grin while exiting the court in Los Angeles, but some social media users believe he is actually trying to cover his nervousness.

AceShowbiz - Tory Lanez is seen all smiles when leaving court on the first day of a felony assault trial over claims that he shot Megan Thee Stallion in both feet in July 2020. However, many social media users believe that the "Say It" rapper was faking his smile.

When walking away from the court in Los Angeles on Monday, December 12, the 30-year-old star, born Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, was seen happy. For the occasion, he wore a gray turtleneck top under a gray suit, which he paired with matching pants.

After the video made its way around on social media, some people said that Tory actually tried to hide his nervousness with an awkward smile. "This the smile I would do when I was getting yelled at on the phone by one of my parents but my friends was around [laughing with tears emoji]," one person commented. Another said, "He's trying so hard to act like everything is all good."

"This the smile I had when my mom said she was gone wear me out at home but I was in front of my friends and couldn't let them catch me slipping," a third quipped, while someone else noted, "he need to stop acting like he so happy knowing inside he scared." A separate person joked, "He gone cry in the car."

On Monday, opening statements for the trial involving Megan and Tory began with the defense revealing its alternative theory about what happened on the night of July 12, 2020. According to reports, Tory's legal team was trying to prove that it was Kelsey Nicole Harris, Meg's former best friend, who may have pulled the trigger on the gun.

On that day, it's also unveiled that test results show that both Kelsey and Tory tested positive for gun residue. Although gunshot residue particles travel quickly, it shows that both were in the same vicinity.

Tory's defense lawyer George Mgdesyan argued that Kelsey and Megan got into a verbal argument while inside an SUV with Tory. The conversation allegedly occurred after a party where Hot Girl Meg and Kelsey were bothered by the sight of Tory and Kylie Jenner together in a pool. George alleged Kylie eventually told Megan that it was time for them to leave.

Later, George revealed Tory, who reportedly dated Kelse some time prior, had a sexual relationship with Megan, causing a fight between the ladies. Additionally, the defense team claimed during this spat, Kelsey wasn't surprised. Kelsey allegedly said Megan also did this in the past, having sex with men she dated, including DaBaby and Ben Simmons.

However, a source told The Shade Room on Monday that allegations of Kelsey having any dealings with Ben "are false" because "Kelsey doesn't know him at all." Also debunking the claims was Ben himself. Taking to his Instagram Story, the NBA star posted a clip of Rick Ross shouting, "False accusations!"

The trial hasn't ended just yet so more details are bound to surface. It's the first day of what's expected to be a 10-day trial that will finally provide a conclusion to the two-year ordeal that has altered Megan and Tory's life and careers.

Tory has been charged with discharging a firearm with gross negligence, in addition to an assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle charge. Megan is reportedly set to testify and provide details surrounding the shooting this week. Kelsey will take the stand, as well, as a witness for the prosecution. Kris Jenner's boyfriend Cory Gamble and Kylie will also take the stand if subpoenaed.
