AceShowbiz - Lil Wayne found himself entangled in a legal battle. It was unveiled that the rapper's former assistant has sued him for allegedly punching the plaintiff during a private jet flight.
Filing the new lawsuit was Andrew Williams. Aside from Wayne, Williams listed Young Money Entertainment and a company called Signature Flight Support as the defendants and accused them of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful termination and negligence.
According to RadarOnline.com, the brawl took place on June 10 when Williams booked Wayne a private plane. However, once they were aboard, the emcee had an argument with the pilot. Unfortunately, when Williams wanted to stop the verbal altercation, Wayne allegedly punched his jaw.
"The combination of a closed fist and the numerous rings and large jewelry on the hands of [Wayne] caused great harm to [Williams]," so read legal docs. In the court papers, Williams said he has suffered emotionally and physically, and "incurred general damages including incurring medical expenses, in amounts to be proven at trial."
Williams further alleged that Wayne and Young Money kept mum about the incident. They reportedly contacted the former only to ask him to return a company backpack and Bluetooth speaker. "Lil Wayne was willful and malicious and was intended to oppress and cause injury to [Williams]. [Williams] is therefore entitled to an award of punitive damages," it read.
Williams added the claim of wrongful termination stemmed from Wayne's ignorance in the wake of the incident. "This termination was done despite Lil Wayne being aware of and causing [Williams'] status as a victim of a crime," his lawyer added. The suit also accused the hip-hop star of wrongfully terminating Williams "based on his race and color in violation" of California law.
Wayne, who has been busy getting ready for his Lil Weezyana Festival, has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
