AceShowbiz - Britney Spears' legal team is taking Jason Alexander's break-in to her wedding seriously. Shortly after her first husband ambushed her big day, the "Toxic" hitmaker lawyer Mathew Rosengart said that he wants Jason to be "aggressively prosecuted."
Speaking to Page Six, Mathew explained that Jason "has been handcuffed, taken into custody and arrested." The former federal prosecutor added, "I express my thanks to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department for their prompt response and good work. I'm working closely with law enforcement to ensure Mr. [Jason] Alexander is aggressively prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
On Thursday, June 9, Jason showed up to Britney's mansion in Thousand Oaks, California, as final preparations for her wedding were underway, and managed to make his way inside. "Hey, where's Britney at?" he asked an armed security guard on the second floor of the multimillion-dollar home while live on Instagram.
Jason then went outside to the backyard and into the tent where the "bulls**t wedding" was set to take place. He introduced himself to multiple people as Britney's "first husband" and claimed the "Baby One More Time" singer, who's set to tie knot with Sam Asghari on Thursday, had "invited" him.
"I'm Jason Alexander. The first husband. I'm here to crash the wedding!" Jason exclaimed. He's also seen entering the wedding tent where planners were busy adding finishing flourishes to the venue.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department raced to the scene after answering a trespassing call, with three police cars arriving at the singer's home just after 2.30 P.M. alongside a fire truck.
One eyewitness said, "It all happened very fast. Three cop cars just showed up and went screeching up her drive. We were all trying to figure out what's going on, especially after the fire truck left."
Sergeant Cyrus Zadeh of Ventura County Sheriff's Office said of the incident, "Earlier today we responded to the Britney Spears residence to a call that a trespassing was occurring. Four deputies plus a sergeant attended the incident."
"We contacted a male subject by the name of Jason Alexander on the property and he has been placed under arrest as of right now for an out of county warrant," Sergeant Cyrus continued. "We're still conducting an investigation to determine if any other criminal violations occurred."
Neither Britney nor Sam has addressed the incident.
Of the wedding, it's reported that Britney didn't include her sons with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, mom Lynne Spears, dad Jamie Spears and sister Jamie Lynn Spears in the guest list which saw 100 attendees. Meanwhile, her brother Bryan Spears is expected to be in attendance. Celebrities including Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow are anticipated to attend the intimate ceremony as well.
Britney and Sam have reportedly been dating since 2016. The couple then got engaged in September 2021. In April this year, they announced that they're expecting a baby together but unfortunately they lost their unborn baby in May.
