AceShowbiz - YFN Lucci's legal team is seeking for his immediate release from prison following Young Thug's arrest. Attorneys for the 31-year-old rapper are worried about his safety after Thugger was indicted on RICO charges and booked into the Fulton County jail, where Lucci has also been placed while awaiting his own trial.
On Friday, May 13, Lucci's lawyer filed a supplemental emergency bond hearing with Fulton County. According to The Shade Room, the claims that Lucci was a victim are based on the YSL RICO indictment that features both Thug and Gunna.
"The indictment specifically names Mr. Bennett as a victim to numerous crimes," reads part of the documents obtained by the site, "some facts of which were alleged in Mr. Bennett's most recent Emergency Motion for Bond Due to Material Change in Circumstances."
Lucci's lawyer, David Findling, additionally told the site, "On behalf of Mr. Bennett, we maintain that if the District Attorney's office is sincerely concerned for Mr. Bennett's wellbeing, they should agree to release him on bond."
Count 40 of the indictment charges three defendants with attempted murder of Rayshawn Bennett, Lucci's real name, "by stabbing and stabbing at Rayshawn Bennett with a shank' inside theFulton County Jail." The incident allegedly took place back in February.
The motion arrives as the indictment also alleges that Thug's associates received permission from him to make a second attempt to murder Lucci.
Lucci is currently awaiting trial for murder and racketeering charges. He is believed to have been involved in a January 2021 shooting in southwest Atlanta. His previous request for release on bond was denied by a judge in June 2021.
As for Thug, he was arrested on May 9. The Grammy Award-winning artist was booked into Fulton County Jail on multiple charges in a RICO case. The conspiracy charge stems from an alleged incident that occurred on January 24, 2013 while the gang charge is connected to an alleged offense from May 12, 2018. He is also accused of commissioning the use of a 2014 Infiniti sedan that he rented from Hertz and was used in the 2015 murder of 26-year-old Donovan Thomas Jr.
