AceShowbiz - Before Will Smith married Jada Pinkett Smith, Garcelle Beauvais was briefly linked to the actor in the 1990s. Now in her memoir, the Haitian-American actress has spilled details of her short fling with the "Independence Day" star and why she abruptly ended things with him.

In her new book titled "Love Me As I Am", "The Real" co-host reveals she made an "exit stage left" after realizing that she's "not the only one." She recalls how Will's eldest son Trey, whom he shares with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino, mistook her for his now-wife Jada.

"I remember one day calling Will, and he was in the car, and his son [and his ex-wife] Sheree were in the back," Garcelle shares. "So you know, he picked up the car or Bluetooth or whatever it was back in the day, or speakerphone - what it was - and he said, 'Hey, how are you doing?' and I said, 'I'm great.' "

Garcelle says she heard Will's son ask him, "[Is that] Miss Jada on the phone?" Noting that it was the tipping point, the reality TV star adds, "And that's when I was like okay - I'm not the only one. Exit stage left."

Will ended up tying the knot with Jada in 1997 following his divorce with Sheree in 1995. The pair have two children together, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith.

In the book, Garcelle also opens up about her fling with Michael Jordan. In an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly, the 55-year-old admits that she regrets turning his invite to go to Hawaii with him. "I was impressed by how tall and handsome he was. He took me on a golf date after the shoot and showed me how to hold a club properly and swing," she says of her impression of the NBA legend.

"Like a naive little girl, I was 'clutching my pearls' and shocked by the idea of going to Hawaii with a man I had just met," she recounts how she curved the former athlete. Looking back, she confesses, "I blew that one!"
