AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez is setting the record straight about her relationship status. In a TikTok video that has gone viral, the "Lose You to Love Me" hitmaker confirmed that she is "single" following rumors of her dating Zen Matoshi.
On Thursday, March 31, the 29-year-old singer/actress took to the video-sharing app to share a clip of her lip-syncing a viral audio from a username called King Nas. The video featured a man listing compliments to a woman who wasn't interested. "Maybe this is why I'm single," she wrote in the caption. "Don't believe a damn word."
In the video, Selena, who debuted her new hairstyle, mouthed, "Oh that's cute," as the man praised the woman's looks, smile and personality. The former Disney star also rolled her eyes when lip-syncing the audio that could be heard sarcastically saying, "Aww." The video has since garnered over 2.4 million views and nearly 450,000 likes.
Selena was most recently linked to Zen Matoshi, who is Global Head of Innovation at Faraday Future, after they were caught attending Dua Lipa's concert in New York's Madison Square Garden together earlier this month. However, an alleged friend of the "Only Murders in the Building" actress confirmed that they "just met through a mutual acquaintance." The friend further insisted, "They're not dating."
A separate source stressed that Selena is currently not looking for love as she is focusing on her Hulu series and her business with Rare Beauty. The so-called insider added, "Selena is happily single right now."
Prior to Zen dating rumors, Selena's fans believed that she's dating Chris Evans. Last November, the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress was spotted wearing a sweater that looked a lot like the one the actor wore in "Knives Out".
Selena, who once admitted that she has a crush on Chris, was first rumored to be in a relationship with the actor after fans noticed the "Avengers: Endgame" star followed her on Instagram last October. Fans also believed that the actor was dating a musician as he often shared videos of him playing piano.
In one of his piano videos, fans noticed what appeared to be Selena's reflection on Chris' piano. At the time, the Captain America depicter in MCU posted a video of him playing Prince's "Purple Rain". Later, a fan noticed that there was a reflection of a woman with brunette hair in the lower-left corner of the footage.
