AceShowbiz - The Funky Bunch are back with a new album, Evolution XL, the group's first full-length project in a new chapter that brings their 1990s sound to a new generation. The album features collaborations with Mark Calderon of Color Me Badd, Money B and Young Hump of Digital Underground, and CeCe Peniston.
The first three singles from Evolution XL have been accepted for GRAMMY consideration, marking the group's first-ever For Your GRAMMY Consideration campaign. The singles are Cut Through the Noise, featuring Calderon; 90s Love (Gonna Like It Here), featuring Money B and Young Hump; and I'm Sending You Good Vibrations, featuring Peniston.
The group, known as the World Famous Funky Bunch since 1991, is positioning Evolution XL as a project that celebrates their musical legacy while introducing a fresh sound and a new chapter in their journey. The collaborations bridge the gap between the music of the 1990s and what's coming next, according to the group's representatives.
Mark Calderon is a member of Color Me Badd, the R&B group known for hits in the early 1990s. Money B and Young Hump are members of Digital Underground, the hip-hop group that rose to prominence in the same era. CeCe Peniston is a singer known for dance and R&B hits, including her 1991 single "Finally."
The album's first three singles are available now. Cut Through the Noise features Calderon, while 90s Love (Gonna Like It Here) features Money B and Young Hump. I'm Sending You Good Vibrations features Peniston.
The Funky Bunch's new album, Evolution XL, is out now. The group is also welcoming interview and media opportunities to discuss their journey from 1991 to today, the stories behind the collaborations, and the making of the album.
