The conservative panelist urges her former co-host on 'The View' to discuss 'why what was said was so deeply offensive and dangerous' instead of issuing 'half-assed apologies.'

AceShowbiz - Meghan McCain is not pleased with Whoopi Goldberg's recent comments on "The View". Although the latter has apologized for saying "the Holocaust isn't about race," the conservative panelist slammed her former co-host in her Daily Mail column.

"I am not calling for Whoopi Goldberg to be fired," the daughter of late Senator John McCain penned in one part. "If only because I don't believe there is any universe where she could possibly do anything that could get her fired - she is the crown jewel of The View and a pop culture icon."

"But I hope this can be used as a teachable moment to explain to millions of Americans why conflating the Holocaust as something that is specific and limited to 'white people' is insane, ahistorical and anti-Semitic," she added. "Instead of half-assed apologies and bringing in experts in the antisemitism space, maybe dedicate an entire 'Hot Topics' segment to discussing why what was said was so deeply offensive and dangerous."

McCain's two cents arrived after Goldberg said in the Monday, January 31 episode of "The View" that "the Holocaust isn't about race... It's about man's inhumanity to man. That's what it's about." Although her co-hosts like Joy Behar and Anna Navarro disagreed with her opinion, the "Sister Act" star insisted that "these are two white groups of people."

"You're missing the point. The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let's talk about it for what it is. It's how people treat each other," the Oscar winned emphasized. "It's a problem. It doesn't matter if you're black or white, cause black, white, Jews ... everybody eats each other."

Goldberg, however, owned up to her mistakes and has since issued her "sincerest" apology on Twitter. . "On today's show, I said the Holocaust 'is not about race, but about man's inhumanity to man.' I should have said it is about both," she began her message.

"As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, 'The Holocaust was about the Nazi's systematic annihilation of the Jewish people - who they deemed to be an inferior race.' I stand corrected," the 66-year-old continued. "The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver. I'm sorry for the hurt I have caused."
