The 'Talk to Me' crooner is arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after cops impounded his motorhome.

AceShowbiz - Fallen R&B veteran Chico DeBarge has added a new list in his documented history with addiction. For the third time within three years, the "Addiction" singer was arrested for drug possession.
As reported by TMZ, police officers received a call on Saturday, November 6 about a man causing disturbance inside of an RV. When cops arrived, they came in contact with the 55-year-old musician. At that time, the authorities also found out his motorhome had registration that expired over 6 months ago.
The vehicle was then impounded. The authorities later discovered methamphetamine and other drug-related material inside the ride. The "Talk To Me" singer was then arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released from custody, committing to his future citation appearance.
This was the second time this year that Chico has been arrested for drugs. On January 13, he was charged with DUI, drug possession and even an impersonation charge for pretending to be his older brother, James DeBarge.
When cops pulled him over, Chico didn't have an identification present. He also had two female passengers present. At that time, the second youngest boy of the musical family group DeBarge had to spend 10 days in jail before making bond.
In 2019, Chico was also taken into police custody for drug possession. He was picked up by police officers after he was found with methamphetamine in Burbank, California in November that year. He was first approached by authorities after being seen using a piece of wire to open an SUV parked in a Walmart parking lot. Then, when law enforcement authorities searched him, they found drug paraphernalia inside his car.
Chico has been open about his struggles with drug addiction for years. He reportedly got clean in the mid 90s during a five-year prison sentence for trafficking. However, in 2003, the singer was stabbed and later became dependent on painkillers. He then checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic in 2007 following another drug possession arrest and went on to title his 2009 solo album "Addiction".
Chico's January arrest came months after one of his sons, Dontae Anderson-DeBarge, was killed after being stabbed in Los Angeles. Dontae was reportedly found on the street with multiple wounds.
