Despite being 'disappointed' at himself over the broken engagement, the 'Strip That Down' hitmaker claims that he already feels 'good' and the breakup somehow makes him 'more concentrated.'

AceShowbiz - Liam Payne is back on the single market. The former One Direction member and Maya Henry have called it quits after being engaged for ten months. Confirming his split from his fiancee in a new interview, the singer admitted that he has "not been very good at relationships."

In the Monday, June 7 episode of "The Diary of a CEO" podcast, the "Strip That Down" hitmaker told host Steven Bartlett that he has called off his engagement to the 20-year-old model. Asked if he was single, the 27-year-old singer replied, "I am indeed. Yup."

Taking the blame for the broken relationship, he opened up, "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships."

"And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships, I feel at this point. I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else," Liam elaborated further. "And I feel like that's where I got to in my last relationship."

Without going into details about the real reason why Liam decided to part ways with Maya, "The X-Factor" alum said that he "wasn't giving a very good version of [him] anymore, that [he] didn't appreciate and [he] didn't like being." He went on to say, "I can honestly say that I feel better out of it. I didn't feel good for doing what I did but it had to happen."

"I know that's the corniest way of saying it was best for both of us...but it just feels like that. I know it was a problem so I need to sort myself out," he admitted On how he felt after the breakup, he claimed, "I already feel good. It has already got me more concentrated." As for Maya, he added, "I hope she's happy."

Liam was first romantically linked to Maya back in August 2018, following his split from ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole in July, with whom he shares 4-year-old son Bear. Two years later, the "For You" crooner confirmed that he and the Texan beauty were engaged after she was pictured wearing a diamond ring, reportedly worth $4 million (£3 million), on her ring finger during a night out with him.
