Reflecting on her past behavior in a new episode of 'Welcome to the O.C., B**ches!' podcast, the actress portraying Summer Roberts on the teen series offers an apology to co-star Tate Donovan.

AceShowbiz - Rachel Bilson was not proud of her past behavior on the set of "The O.C." When sitting down with former co-stars Tate Donovan and Melinda Clarke for her "Welcome to the O.C., B**ches!" podcast, the actress portraying Summer Roberts on the teen series dubbed herself "idiots" as she apologized for her "a**holeness" on the set.

The 39-year-old expressed remorse to the Jimmy Cooper depicter in the Tuesday, May 25 episode of the podcast. "You went on to direct us on 'The O.C.' and I know some of us kids were little a**holes," she told the older actor. "And I think that speaks to that whole unaware, young, youthful, ignorant ... just idiots. And I hope I wasn't as bad as it's come off."

Tate, however, responded wisely, "You can't help but believe all the sort of hype everyone gets caught up in, especially when you're young." Hearing such response from Tate, Rachel admitted, "I thought you were so wonderful and such a wonderful director and an amazing human. So if I ever added to any of the a**holeness, I want to apologize on the record here right now."

Reassuring Rachel that she was a "total sweetheart to work with," Tate recalled his impression of working with her. "Our first scene together, you were in Seth's house and you were coming down to the pool to talk to Ryan or something like that. You did the scene, and it was great," he remembered.

"I just wanted to put something in your mind," Tate continued. "And I said, 'Just so you know, that was great, just so you know, you've just come from Seth's room and you've had a huge argument in that thing and you're breaking up, and so, I want to see that argument in you, like, you know that right?' "

Spilling further, Tate recounted, "I'm like, 'I'm sure you read the script, but you know, you just came from an argument.' " He then shared the blunt answer Rachel gave him. "And you go, 'Tate, I don't read scripts, I smoke pot,' " he pointed out, prompting Rachel to burst into laughter and said, "That is awesome, and so on brand, and not so much like, yeah, the pot thing."
