In her new filing for the court-ordered protection, Esther Campbell claims that Steve Harwell is not taking his bipolar disorder medication, and has been verbally and mentally abusive toward her.

AceShowbiz - Steve Harwell has been slapped with a court order to stay away from his former fiancee. A little over seven months after she was first reported to have filed a restraining order against the Smash Mouth frontman, Esther Campbell has finally managed to obtain one.

Campbell, per report by TMZ, made a new request for the restraining order recently. Accusing Harwell of verbal and mental abuse, she uncovered in newly-filed documents that the 53-year-old rocker has been battling substance abuse, but fell off the wagon after getting out of rehab.

The woman, who got engaged to Harwell in September 2019 after dating him for over a year, further alleged that he was being "vindictive, angry, vile and mean" toward her. She claimed that he once destroyed the phone that he stole from her, and left her car windows open in the rain after stealing the keys. She added that he did not take his bipolar disorder medication.

Campbell has since been granted a temporary restraining order against Harwell. The "Then The Morning Comes" rocker is now forbidden to contact her and has to stay at least 200-yards away from his ex.

This was not the first time Campbell requested a protection order against Harwell. Back in September 2019, she accused him of ruining her life with his "threatening behavior." At the time, she alleged that he has through his management team told her that he has the "means" to make her life difficult.

Campbell additionally claimed that Harwell has made threat about not paying for work he has commissioned at her home. She said that he made the move after she refused to let him move in with her. She had also told police that he bombarded her with harassing texts and calls.

In other news, Harwell has recently released a collaboration with Richard Marx titled "1st Rodeo". The latter has raved over their joint project in an early May post on Twitter. "This was a really fun song to record," he tweeted. "My buddy @Steveharwell crushed it!"
