AceShowbiz - "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda delivered a surprise message of thanks to New York hospital "heroes" on Monday (April 06) by sending in a pre-recorded video for a virtual staff meeting.
The writer and actor, who is self-isolating in the city with his wife and two kids, expressed his gratitude for the work of first responders amid the coronavirus pandemic during executive vice president Dr. Laura Forese's live daily video briefings for the thousands of people employed through the New York-Presbyterian Hospital group.
In the clip, Miranda said, "I know you all have families. I know you're all putting yourselves on the line and you never asked for this. But you are heroes and you're doing incredible work."
"I'm grateful for your service. New York City is grateful for your service."

The news of Miranda's motivational Monday morning message emerged hours after he reunited with the original cast of his Broadway smash hit "Hamilton" via video conferencing app Zoom for a virtual appearance on actor John Krasinski's "Some Good News" web series.
The gathering included a performance of the song "Alexander Hamilton", and was staged as part of a special surprise for a "Hamilton" superfan, nine-year-old Aubrey, who had to miss out on seeing the show in person for her birthday due to the coronavirus lockdown.
