AceShowbiz - Being a singer with superstar status, it's no brainer that Beyonce Knowles has her name mentioned every now and then on other people's songs. But that doesn't mean she will turn a blind eye and ignore all of them. An example of that is Fabolous, who revealed that the singing diva once confronted him for comparing her and sister Solange Knowles.
For those who need a reminder, Fabolous' "For the Money" included lyrics that read, "If you could have Beyonce, would you take Solange?" That apparently didn't sit well with the former Destiny's Child member, as the rapper recalled in an interview on "The Breakfast Club", "The first person I saw was Bey, and Beyonce was like, 'Yo, let me holler at you.' She was just telling me that they rock with me."
"Punch line-y style is just to say something to be catchy and metaphoric, but I didn't see the deeper side of it," Fabolous continued explaining. "And Beyonce, I ain't gonna share the exact conversation, but she told me, '[These are] people. Saying something like that can personally hurt her.' And I said, 'You know what? I get it.' I said, 'Yo, when I see Solange, I'll apologize to her.' "
Fabolous did as promised when he met Solange at the SoHo House in New York City, but the latter was pretty stonefaced about the whole ordeal. "I seen her, so I was like, all right, let me beeline to Solange and apologize. And Solange, she was stiff. I'm like, 'Hey! What's Up?' " he recalled. "And I was like, 'Yo, I just want you to know I didn't mean it in any malice, but I do take responsibility for saying that and I apologize.' "
"For the Money" was released in 2010. Featuring Nicki Minaj, the song is included in his album "There Is No Competition 2 (The Funeral Service)".
