AceShowbiz - Harry Styles has followed in singer/actor Donnie Wahlberg's footsteps and left a generous $2,020 (£1,545) tip for a restaurant server while on vacation in Anguilla.
The "Blue Bloods" star popularised the 2020 Tip Challenge on Wednesday, January 01, after giving a waitress at an IHOP restaurant in St. Charles, Illinois a great start to her year by adding the hefty gratuity amount to his bill after a breakfast date with his wife, Jenny McCarthy.
Media personality McCarthy boasted about her man's kind gesture on Twitter as she posted a photo of the receipt, on which Wahlberg had written, "Happy New Year 2020 TIP CHALLENGE."
Jenny captioned her post, "@DonnieWahlberg starting 2020 off like the amazing man he is."
Now Styles has also taken on the social media challenge, leaving the big tip on a $472.50 (£361) bill he received on Saturday night, January 04, after dining out with his longtime pal, comedian James Corden, and soul superstar Adele while on vacation in the Caribbean.
The lucky employee shared a snap of the receipt online, including a note from the former One Direction star, who had written, "Happy new year!"
"Big ups to @harrystyles for taking care of Mr Big Life!" the staff member tweeted.
The waiter, who also shared photos of Styles and Corden hanging out, added, "@donniewahlberg you got the second worldwide response from Harry Styles all the way from St Thomas Virgin Islands with @j_corden and @adele."
