Ahead of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the 'Lose You to Love Me' singer shares that she uses the break to reflect upon how hard she has worked in the past year.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez is looking forward to using the festive break to reflect on the ups and downs of her "powerful" past year.

The singer sets aside time over the U.S. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to process her experiences, and 2019 has been particularly poignant.

"I think every time the holidays come up, there's some part of you where you kind of sit and reflect on the year," Gomez tells InStyle. "This year was really, really powerful for me."

Reflecting on the upcoming release of her first album since 2015's "Revival", and her first U.S. number one hit with "Lose You to Love Me", she continues, "I can say that I'm so proud of how hard I worked, and that I truly am excited to just sit back with my family, and enjoy, and turn off everything. I always just think about what happened, and where I want to go in life, and hope for the best."

Selena also enjoys the dressing down aspect of the holidays, because she can prioritize comfort over fashion.

"I feel it's my time, because when I'm with my family at Christmas, it's not like I'm not going out to huge fancy dinners or anything," she shares. "It's usually just us, tucked away and just having time for ourselves."
