AceShowbiz - It sucks to be cheated on. While the disloyalty alone would cause so much hurt to someone in a relationship, for celebrity couple whose life is constantly under the prying eyes of media, cheating scandal can bring embarrassment, both to the doer and the victim.
Most recently, such case hit the marriage of Cardi B and Offset that prompted the Bronx femcee to dump her husband. While the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker didn't detail the reason behind the separation, a leaked text exchange revealed that the Migos star wanted to have a threesome with two other women when Cardi was eight months pregnant with their daughter Kulture. Making matter worse, it wasn't the first time that Offset cheated on Cardi.
Trying to win her heart back, Offset surprised Cardi onstage during her performance at the Rolling Loud Festival with a massive cake and floral arrangement. After initially turning down his grand gesture to apologize, the Bronx femcee was spotted jet-skiing together with her estranged husband during a vacation in Puerto Rico on Friday, December 21, giving a sign that they're heading toward reconciliation.
While it's still unclear if Cardi and Offset would only spend Christmas together as a family for their daughter or if their reunion will last beyond the holiday season, several other couples have set an example how they managed to work through similar issues and put their union front despite the heartbreak. With different attempts to beg for another chance, these celebrity couples listed below show that their love can put aside their spouses' or partners' past mistake to stay together as a couple.
1. Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott
Affair has plagued Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's relationship ever since it began. The two fell for each other while they were still legally married to their respective spouses. In 2014, seven years into their marriage, McDermott admitted to have cheated on his wife in December 2013 in Toronto, while Tori and their four kids were celebrating the holidays. Dean subsequently went into rehab and they documented how they handled it on reality series "True Tori". It wasn't a short process, but the couple only got stronger with the birth of their fifth child in 2017. They still have many ups and downs, but choose to work through their issues together.
2. Josh & Anna Duggar
As someone who preaches God, Josh Duggar was expected to be a role model at least as a father and husband. Yet, he disappointed those closest to him and his community when it was revealed in 2015 that he had molested underage girls when he was aged 14-15. As if that's not bad enough, he was outed as a member of a pornography website. Following the discovery, he admitted to being unfaithful to his wife Anna Duggar and addicted to pornography. He checked into a rehab facility, but Anna didn't show a slight intention to leave her husband. While they're able to save their marriage, Josh's molestation and cheating scandal cost his family their reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting".
3. Khloe Kardashian & Tristan Thompson
Just when she was close to having her dream come true by becoming a mom, Khloe Kardashian's seemingly perfect world crumbled. The reality TV star, who divorced her ex-husband Lamar Odom for cheating on her with multiple girls, was only weeks away from giving birth to her first child when a video surfaced showing her partner Tristan Thompson getting cozy with another girl. After her daughter True was born, she left Cleveland for L.A. in June but eventually flew back to be with her baby's father a few months later. She never directly addressed the issue, but in more than one occasion, the 34-year-old TV personality shut down those who criticized her decision to stay together with the NBA star after she was seen flaunting PDA with Tristan despite the cheating scandal.
4. David Letterman & Regina Lasko
TV fans may know David Letterman as someone who always brings laughter late night, but who'd guess that he would cause his wife Regina Lasko such a heartbreak. In 2009, he admitted that he had extramarital affairs after someone blackmailed him and threatened to reveal he had sex with several of his female employees. One of them was longtime personal assistant Stephanie Birkitt. Showing his regret, he devoted a segment of his "Late Show" for a public apology to his wife and staff. In a recent interview with Jay-Z, the 71-year-old host admitted, "I did something that I had no business doing, and I regret it, and since then I have tried to acknowledge that mistake and be a better person."
5. Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne
The Osbourne family's life was exposed on their reality series "The Osbournes", but the patriarch managed to hide his infidelity until his affair with hairstylist Michelle Pugh was revealed in 2016. Ozzy Osbourne cheated on Sharon Osbourne not just one or twice, but with multiple women as he was struggling with sex addiction for six years. They broke up only to reunite shortly afterwards, and renewed their vows in 2017. "I'm not proud of all that s**t. I upset my wife and I upset my family and I made a lot of shock and shame," the Black Sabbath frontman confessed to Rolling Stone. In the end, the rocker said it was their love for each other that kept them together.
6. Kevin Hart & Eniko Parrish
Kevin Hart initially denied he cheated on then-pregnant wife Eniko Parrish when a video surfaced in July 2017 showing him getting cozy with a mystery brunette in a car. The comedian, however, admitted to his mistake in September after someone tried to extort him with a sex tape featuring the "Ride Along" star. "Sending so many apologies to my wife & kids. I gotta do better and I will. I'm not perfect and have never claimed to be," he wrote on Instagram. Addressing the cheating allegations once again, he said last December, "That's Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment. That's not the finest hour of my life." Eniko clearly appreciated his honesty as she responded to Kevin's confession by writing on her social media account, "The naked truth is always better that the best-dressed lie."
7. Colin Firth & Livia Giuggioli
Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli's marriage was relatively out of the spotlight that people had no idea they briefly separated a few years ago. Thus, it came as a real shock when the film producer and director admitted that she had a romantic relationship with Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia between 2015 and 2016, when she and the British actor were not together. The couple decided to come clean about it after Livia's former boyfriend harassed her with "frightening" messages following their split. The Firths, who have since reunited, later filed a legal complaint to Italian police accusing Marco of terrorizing her.
8. Kobe Bryant & Vanessa Laine
Kobe Bryant's reputation as a decorated basketball player was tarnished when he was investigated for alleged sexual assault on a 19-year-old hotel employee in 2003, two years after marrying Vanessa Laine. The shooting guard admitted to having sex with his accuser but denied that he raped her. The case was eventually dropped in 2004 and during that period, Vanessa stood by his side. In 2011, Vanessa surprised everyone when she filed for divorce from the former Lakers star after apparently learning of his frequent infidelities from the wives of his teammates. More than one year later, however, they decided not to proceed with the divorce and have since been together again. Sealing their reunion, they welcomed their third daughter, Bianka, in 2016.
9. David Boreanaz & Jaime Bergman
In 2010, David Boreanaz publicly admitted to have cheated on his wife Jaime Bergman, who was pregnant with their first child together. He had an affair with Rachel Uchitel, who was also Tiger Woods' mistress. Like Kevin Hart, the "Bones" alum went public with his infidelity after he was faced with "some sort of extortion attempt." When making the revelation, Jaime was at his side, though she admitted, "There's anger. There's hurt. There's disgust. But there is a love." The couple worked to repair their marriage and after "a long, bumpy road," the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actor said his affair made his marriage stronger.
10. Jay-Z & Beyonce
"Becky with the good hair" became the biggest mystery in 2016 after Beyonce Knowles dropped her album "Lemonade" featuring songs which allude to Jay-Z's infidelity. Speculations ran rampant about who "Becky with the good hair" is, with Rita Ora and Rachel Roy being thrown on the list of Jay-Z's possible mistress. While they never named the third person, Jay-Z confirmed his affair with lyrics on his song "Family Feud" featuring Beyonce. In an interview with David Letterman in April of this year, the Roc Nation founder revealed how they dealt with it, "We did the hard work of going to therapy." He added, "I like to believe we're in a better place today. But we're still working and communicating and growing."
