'Selena: The Series' is described as a coming-of-age story about the late Tejano music legend, while 'Conversations With a Killer' will feature previously unheard audio of interviews with Bundy.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has added not just one, but two new series to its lineup. The streaming giant has handed out a straight-to-series order for a scripted series about the late Selena Quintanilla and picked up a true-crime series about notorious serial killer Ted Bundy.

The streaming service is teaming up with Selena's family for "Selena: The Series", which is described as a coming-of-age story about the Queen of Tejano music. Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla says in a statement about the upcoming series, "Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory."

She goes on teasing, "With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives. We are excited to partner with Campanario and Netflix to give fans a never-before-seen glimpse at our story and highlight why Selena will remain a legend for generations to come."

Executive producer Jaime Davila adds that the series "will focus on the incredible story of a Mexican-American family and how an extraordinary young woman transcended categories and borders to become a global star."

It's yet to be known if the series will feature hourlong or half-hour episodes. Netflix has not announced a premiere date and episode count for the series as well. Moises Zamora ("Star", "American Crime") is set to write the script. He additionally executive produces the series with Campanario Entertainment president Jaime Davila, Rico Martinez, Suzette Quintanilla, Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr. and Simran A. Singh.

As for the Ted Bundy docuseries titled "Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes", it will consist of four episodes and feature previously unheard audio of interviews with Bundy while he was on death row in Florida. It will also highlight his killings and the attention he gained during his trials, including the adoration of a number of women and his in-court marriage to a witness on his side, Carole Ann Boone.

Emmy winner Joe Berlinger, who has penned Ted Bundy movie "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" starring Zac Efron, will serve as director in addition to executive produce it alongside Justin Wilkes, Jon Doran and Jon Kamen. Sara Enright is on board as producer.

"Conversations With a Killer" is scheduled to premiere on January 24, exactly 30 years after Bundy was executed in Florida for the murder of Kimberly Leach in 1978.
