AceShowbiz - Many powerful women in music industry gathered at Pier 36 in lower Manhattan on Thursday night, December 6 to attend the 2018 Billboard Women in Music. There were a lot of musicians who showed off their girl power by opting for masculine look when arriving at the red carpet of the event, including Dua Lipa and Janelle Monae.
The British songstress looked sensational in a small beige bra top which showcased both her rock hard abs and cleavage. Going color-coordinated, she teamed the sexy top with a loose fitting suit in the same hue as she pulled back her chin-length hair to reveal a pair of silver statement earrings. Completing her look were sparkly silver heels.
Meanwhile, Trailblazer Award honoree Janelle definitely turned heads when put her own spin on old classic trouser suit. She slipped into a gray-and-white pin-striped pantsuit which featured a coat that was a hybrid of a blazer and a one-piece swimsuit. In addition, her quirky garment was completely cut-out at the back, revealing her bare booty.
Also opting for masculine look at the event were Alicia Keys and Ashley Graham. Meanwhile, there were also stars who opted for mini dresses while some still looked stunning and gorgeous in long gowns.
Billboard Women in Music recognizes women in the music industry who have made significant contributions to the business and who, through their work and continued success, inspire generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities within the field. Ariana Grande was named the honoree of Woman of the Year for this year's event, following an amazing line up of women who have been honored with the award. Among them were Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Madonna and Selena Gomez.
Accepting the trophy from presenter Patti LaBelle, the former Nickelodeon star explained how the award was special to her, considering that "this has been one of the best years in my career and one of the like the worst years in my life."
Dua Lipa teamed her beige bra top with a color-coordinated loose fitting suit.
Janelle Monae's outfit at the event surely reminded people of Christina Aguilera's famous chaps moment in "Dirrty" music video.
