AceShowbiz - Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum are ready to officially end their marriage. The former "Witches of East End" star filed for divorce on Friday, October 26 in Los Angeles, six months after she and her now-estranged husband announced their split.
The 37-year-old dancer and actress, who is represented by powerhouse attorney Samantha Spector, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason of the split. She is asking joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter Everly, according to court documents obtained by The Blast. The Lucy Lane of "Supergirl" TV series is also asking court to restore her name to Dewan from Dewan-Tatum.
Shortly after Jenna filed the divorce papers, Channing submitted his response. The 38-year-old star is also asking for joint custody of their child. He is seeking to block the court's ability to give Jenna spousal support, TMZ reports.
Jenna and Channing started dating after they first met on the set of their movie "Step Up" in 2006. They tied the knot on July 11, 2009 at Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California. The former couple welcomed their daughter, Everly, in 2013.
They announced their separation in April through a joint statement posted on Twitter. "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," it read. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now."
The "Logan Lucky" star has been reported dating British singer Jessie J for a couple of months after calling it quits with Jenna. Meanwhile, the "World of Dance" host is said to have been "seeing someone new." While the identity of her new man isn't revealed yet, it's reported that the brunette beauty's love interest isn't someone "well known."
