However, fans of the spoof of the true crime documentary genre have a reason not to be so devastated over the cancellation news.

AceShowbiz - Netflix is pulling off the plug on another series. The streaming giant has announced that "American Vandal" has been canceled after running for two seasons.

" 'American Vandal' will not return for a third season. We're very grateful to the creators, writers, cast and crew for bringing their innovative comedy to Netflix, and to the fans and critics who embraced its unique and unconventional humor," Netflix said in a statement.

However, fans of the spoof of the true crime documentary genre should not be so devastated over the cancellation news as it's reported that CBS TV Studios have been receiving multiples calls from networks which show desire to revive the anthology. The producers allegedly had been plotting what to offer in a possible season 3.

Created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the Peabody-winning series surprisingly debuted in September 2017 to strong reviews, despite a largely unknown cast and little advance promotion. A send-up of true crime docuseries like "The Jinx" and Netflix's "Making a Murderer", the first season of "American Vandal" followed the investigation into who drew penises on 27 cars at a Southern California high school.

The sophomore season, meanwhile, explored the events at a private Catholic high school after a person who calls themselves the "Turd Burglar" contaminates its cafeteria lemonade.

This is the third cancellation that Netflix made this month alone. The streaming giant canned "Marvel's Iron Fist" on October 12. " 'Marvel's Iron Fist' will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners," Disney-owned comic giant and the streamer said in a joint statement.

Then, it canceled fellow Marvel-related series "Luke Cage" a week later.
