The rapper has been sentenced to 364 days in jail after police found two guns and a stash of weed during a raid in January.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Kodak Black has reportedly been sentenced to a year in jail on illegal guns and drugs charges. The hip-hop star was slapped with a number of felony counts after a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team raided the Florida home he was sharing with friends following a report of a domestic disturbance in January.

During a search of the property, police officers uncovered two guns and a stash of weed, and Kodak, real name Dieuson Octave, was taken into custody for grand theft of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, marijuana possession, child neglect and probation violation charges.

Kodak, who has been in custody ever since, insisted the guns and drugs had nothing to do with him, and in February, one count each of possession of a weapon or ammunition by a delinquent, grand theft of a firearm, and child neglect were dismissed.

He appeared in Broward County Court to face two of his remaining charges, entering not guilty pleas to both possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition, and now, according to The Blast, Kodak has pleaded guilty to two probation violations, including driving on a suspended license and associating with people committing crimes.

The rapper was facing 12 years behind bars, but he has been sentenced to 364 days in jail, with 90 days credited for time already served. He could reportedly be released by October for good behaviour and will not have to face anymore probation.

"Kodak (and I) are extremely happy to resolve this case with an excellent resolution," his attorney Bradford Cohen tells TMZ. "It was very nice to deal with a fair judge who understood the circumstances - along with prosecutors."

Meanwhile, the rap star is also facing prosecution for first degree criminal sexual conduct, after allegedly assaulting a teenage girl at a South Carolina hotel following a concert in 2016. He was indicted by a grand jury in October 2017 and freed on bond on December 1, 2017. Kodak faces up to 30 years behind bars if convicted in that case.
