While Fergie admits that the rendition 'didn't strike the intended tone' even though she tried her best, Roseanne takes a jab at the songstress by saying that her performance 'was better.'

AceShowbiz - After receiving backlash over her National Anthem performance at the NBA All-Star Game, Stacy Ferguson a.k.a Fergie has issued a formal apology for her poor performance. In a statement, the songstress explained that her performance didn't go as planned.

"I've always been honored and proud to perform the National Anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA," she said. "I'm a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best."

Fergie's sultry rendition of the National Anthem sparked an outcry on social media, with many calling it "the worst rendition ever." In addition, Draymond Green, Chance the Rapper and Jimmy Kimmel were caught on camera trying to hold back their laughter during her performance. But Draymond failed to do it.

"Hands down the worst rendition of our national anthem I have ever heard!" one Twitter user wrote. "I'm sure PETA will be contacting Fergie for the hearing damage she caused the dogs and cats that heard that." Another commented, "Fergie chopped and screwed the anthem."

Fergie even faced criticism from fellow celebrities. Comedienne Roseanne Barr took to her Twitter account to take a jab at the songstress, writing, "Who saw Fergie's national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game? I think mine was better lowkey."

Leslie Jones also slammed the songstress, posting on Instagram a clip of the performance along with a caption which read, "Meanwhile back in the states... I leave for a couple of days and y'all lose your muthaf***ing mind!! Why did this happen? Not everyone supposed to do this y'all! You might as well should have ask me to sing. Wtf?!"

Khloe Kardashian, meanwhile, took to her Twitter account to say that she was confused by Fergie's performance. "The All Star opening is confusing me," she said. "WTF is going on? Anyone?"
