AceShowbiz - Wedding bells are ringing! After months of speculation, Toni Braxton has finally confirmed her engagement to boyfriend Birdman. The happy news was revealed in a new teaser for the upcoming season of "Braxton Family Values".
In the promotional clip, Toni excitedly told her sisters, "I have an announcement to make - I'm engaged!" while showing off a huge canary yellow diamond ring. Her family smiled and laughed in response, seemingly approving of her engagement.
The pair sparked engagement rumors back in November when the diva made an appearance at the Soul Train Awards donning the same ring on that finger. Toni added fuel to the rumors after fans spotted her donning the said ring in recent photos and videos on Instagram.
Toni and Birdman first met in 2002 while working on their collaborative track "Baby You Can Do It". They later started dating in May 2016, making their first public appearance as a couple at the 2016 BET Awards.
Their relationship was approved by Toni's mom, Evelyn Braxton. "I think he is a nice man," she said of Birdman in a radio interview in 2016. "I don't care what others say about him. He is a nice man. He is full of respect."
"I met him years ago, Toni been knowing him... 15 years ago something like that," she added. "Ever since I've been knowing that man, he's been phenomenal. So let me say, I hope so."
Besides planning her nuptials, Toni is currently gearing up for her new album "Sex and Cigarettes", which is slated for a March 23 release. The 50-year-old diva has unveiled the lead track off the album, "Long as I Live".
In support of the upcoming album, Toni is scheduled to embark on a North American tour this spring. As of now, she has yet to announce the dates for the tour.
