During this time, Braxton experienced a series of health incidents, including collapsing onstage in New York City in 2007. Doctors initially suspected a precancerous condition. Years later, she collapsed again in Las Vegas and was airlifted to Los Angeles, where Dr. Wallace diagnosed her with lupus.

Braxton also discussed her struggles with breast implants, which she initially believed were causing her chest tightness. However, after having them removed, her symptoms persisted, eventually leading to a diagnosis of microvascular angina and pericarditis.

Braxton's lupus diagnosis had a profound impact on her personal and professional life. She recalled having two successful pregnancies but being forced to terminate a third due to health complications related to lupus.

Additionally, her career was initially jeopardized by the stigma surrounding "sick celebrities." She faced difficulties getting insurance and booking work.
