The 16-year-old daughter of the wrestler-turned-actor has been announced as the newly re-named Golden Globe Ambassador, previously known as Miss/Mr. Golden Globe.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's daughter Simone Garcia Johnson will get a chance to shine on the stage of the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. The 16-year-old daughter of the wrestler-turned-actor and Dany Garcia has been named the Golden Globe Ambassador for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards.
HFPA president Meher Tatna made the announcement Wednesday evening, November 15 at Catch LA in West Hollywood. She said, "As we look forward to the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association members decided to expand this role to embody the HFPA's philanthropic efforts year round. The honoree will now be referred to as the Golden Globe Ambassador and we could not think of a better representative than Simone to carry on this tradition, as her values closely reflect everything the HFPA stands for."
Ms. Johnson responded, "I've been lucky enough to grow up in a household with strong role models and feel so honored to represent the HFPA for its 75th Anniversary. As the newly minted Golden Globe Ambassador, I hope to serve as a role model to young people everywhere and empower them to speak out on issues they are passionate about."
The Golden Globe Ambassador replaces the honorary title Miss/Mr. Golden Globe, which was given to the son or daughter of of the industry's most respected talents. They're on hand to usher presenters on and off stage along with handing out awards.
The likes of Melanie Griffith, Laura Dern, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Dakota Johnson had graced the stage as Miss/Mr. Golden Globe in the past before they became big stars like we know today. Recent honorees included Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx, Kelsey Grammer's daughter Greer Grammer, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter Sosie Bacon, Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher's daughter Francesca Eastwood, Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan's son Sam Fox, as well as Andie MacDowell's daughter Rainey Qualley.
Sylvester Stallone's daughters Sophia Stallone, Sistine Stallone and Scarlet Stallone made history when they were picked as joint Miss Golden Globes for the 2017 ceremony which was held early this year.
The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will take place Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. The show will air live on NBC, with Jimmy Fallon having been tapped to return as the host.
