BTS' (a.k.a. Bangtan Boys) popularity continues to rise and it's recently sealed with the number of their Twitter followers. The South Korean boyband, consisting of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V and Jungkook, has officially become the most followed Korean act on the micro-blogging site, taking over the title from G-Dragon.

The "Blood Sweat & Tears" hitmaker has more than 8.74 million followers on Twitter as of now, surpassing the Big Bang member's 8.72 million followers. The seven-member group slid past the hugely popular rapper over the weekend.

It's not the first time BTS scored Twitter-related history. The group was listed by Forbes as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in March 2016. Following that, Twitter launched its first ever K-pop Twitter emoji featuring BTS.

BTS becoming the most followed Korean act on Twitter comes after the boys set a record on U.S. albums chart Billboard 200. Their latest release "Love Yourself 'Her' " landed at No. 7 on the chart last week, becoming the first K-Pop effort to hit the top 10. They previously notched the highest-charting K-Pop album with "Wings", which peaked at No. 26 last year. The album's track "DNA" also landed at No. 85 on Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, the song has received more than 70 million views.

BTS' popularity has grown rapidly and globally since the release of "Wings". "Love Yourself 'Her' " is the act's first album following their victory as Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year. The set is also BTS' first album to have an American distribution.

Their achievements have also led the group to be ranked #5 on Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list for 2017 which ranks South Korea's most powerful and influential celebrities.

The group, which is known for their large social media presence, has not tweeted anything to celebrate their latest feat.
