Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson will play vigilante duo and romantic couple Dove and Hawk on the upcoming superhero series.

AceShowbiz - DC's upcoming TV series "Titans" is slowly gathering its cast. After casting Brenton Thwaites in the lead role of Dick Grayson, the show has now tapped Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson to play superhero twosome Hawk and Dove.

Despite being a romantic couple, the two characters are depicted as having opposite personalities in the comic books. Hawk a.k.a. Hank Hall is an aggressive, offensive bruiser, while Dove a.k.a. Dawn Granger is strategic, defensive and lithe.

The roles are both recurring, with the option to become regulars in a possible second season. According to Deadline, producers are already exploring a potential "Hawk and Dove" spin-off headlined by the vigilante duo.

"Titans" revolves around "a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others."

Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Akiva Goldsman, the team behind the DC Universe on The CW, are set to executive produce the series alongside Sarah Schechter from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Johns, Berlanti and Goldman also pen the script for the live-action series.

"Titans" was originally set to debut on TNT before being pulled by the network. A few months ago, Warner Bros. announced that the series would debut on Warner Bros.' new digital streaming service, which also hosts the upcoming season 3 of "Young Justice".

No premiere date is set just yet, but production is said to kick off this month. Other stars cast for the series are Anna Diop as Starfire and Teagan Croft as Raven.

Kelly is known for her role as Lyla Garrity on "Friday Night Lights". She recently had a recurring role on "Jane the Virgin". As for Ritchson, he played Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman on The CW's "Smallville". He also starred in feature films such as "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" as Gloss, and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and its sequel as Raphael.
