Dwayne Johnson Gets Bloody and Battered in 'Skyscraper' New Set Photo

The muscled actor just took to social media to share the photo taken from the set of the upcoming action thriller directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.

AceShowbiz - Filming on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's upcoming film "Skyscraper" is currently underway, and a new photo from the set has arrived online. Shared by the 45-year-old wrestler-turned-actor on his Instagram account on Sunday, September 3, the photo showed him getting "bloody and battered."

"Bloody and battered w/ my director @rawsonthurber between takes. WEEK 3 complete of our action thriller #SKYSCRAPER," so Johnson wrote in the caption. "This is my second film with Rawson putting my trust in his hands. A very smart, ambitious, extremely focused and methodical guy who wants to deliver a f**king intensely breathtaking and epic film for the fans."

The muscled actor went on explaining, "Our story takes place in China. In the penthouse of the world's tallest skyscraper... on fire." He also told fans, "More details to come down the road. Until then, WEEK 3 complete and we'll just keep on keepin' on," adding the hashtags "#JohnsonThurber #SKYSCRAPER."

Thurber is directing "Skyscraper" from a script he wrote. The action thriller is being produced by Legendary Entertainment, Seven Bucks Productions and Flynn Picture Company, with Universal Pictures handling the distribution. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters across the nation on July 13 next year.

In the upcoming movie, Johnson plays Will Ford, a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. Starring alongside the buffed star are Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Chin Han, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, Noah Taylor and Roland Moller among others.

Before appearing in "Skyscraper", Johnson will soon be seen in "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle", which is due out December 20 this year. The action adventure comedy also stars Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas. Johnson also stars in "Rampage", which is based on the classic 1980's video game featuring apes and monsters destroying cities. Directed by Brad Peyton, the action sci-fi flick is set for an April 20, 2018 release.
